 FAQ
QUESTION: What are our hammocks made of?
ANSWER: All of our products clearly state the materials that they are mode from. Most are made from 100% cotton rope, which gives superior comfort in hot weather, or polyester rope, which give superior resistance to the elements.
QUESTION: How long will my hammock last?
ANSWER: With commonsense care, your hammock should last for many years. However, cotton hammocks should not be left outside for long periods, especially when it's raining.
QUESTION: How is the best way to hang a hammock?
ANSWER: The best way to hang a hammock is with hammock thimbles and "S" hooks, with a length of strong rope. Rock-climbing hardware also works very well. Suspend the hammock with two equal lengths of rope so it hangs with each end at the same height allowing it to sag a bit in the middle (but not touch the ground when occupied). It is best to attach a rope to each end of the hammock, between the hammock and the hardware, to avoid putting wear on the hammock as it swings.
QUESTION: How do I get into or out of a hammock?
ANSWER: The best way to get in to a hammock is to back up to it, pull the far other side above your head, then lie back in it pulling your feet into position. To get out, put your feet on the ground and stand up. You may also wish to lie diagonally across the length of the hammock which will allow you to you to lie flat and avoid the bowing of the back that is natural to lying in a hammock.
QUESTION: Can hammocks be washed in the washing machine?
ANSWER: To machine wash, stretch the hammock to its full length and tie the cords and body at intervals of 12 inches to keep it from tangling. Put into a mesh bag (or use gentle cycle) and wash with cold water and a mild laundry detergent.
QUESTION: How do you store a hammock when not being used?
ANSWER: The best way is to un-attach one end from its hanging mout, and twist the hammock loosely. Then un-attach the other end, bringing the two ends together. Place the two ends together and place on a hook in a garage or other room that provides a cool and dry place for storage. |
