 About UsHammockCentral.Com was founded by genuine hammock-lovers. We simply love hammocks. In fact, if we did not have to go to work, we would likely spend a good part of every day lounging in one of our soft, comfortable hammocks with a cold glass of iced-tea or lemonade.
Hammocks in the United States originated on the east coast, just a hop, jump, and skip away from our corporate headquarters. We remember as kids, traveling down to Hatteras or Nags Head and lounging in hammocks, which seemed to be quite a novelty at the time. Over the past 30 years or so the rest of the country has caught up, and now people in all parts of the country are enjoying hammocks. Living in Virginia Beach, Virginia, we enjoy “hammock weather” up to 9 months of each year.
Today, many fine hammocks are still manufactured right down the road from here, in North Carolina, although some interesting designs and materials are imported from exotic places like Guatemala, Brazil and other tropical areas.
You can be sure that all of the hammocks sold through this website are hammocks that we would be proud to have in our home, on our porches or in our yards. The hammocks we sell online are the same hammocks that we, our friends and families, use and enjoy every spring, summer and fall.
